New Delhi, August 17: Outer Delhi Warriors produced a strong performance in a high-scoring Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 match against Purani Dilli 6 on Sunday, with Harsh Tyagi playing an important role with both bat and ball.

Reflecting on his performance, Tyagi said, “When I went in to bat, there were six overs left and the target was to get to 200. I managed to add around 30 important runs. With the ball, I had a tough start in my first two overs, but I focused on keeping the runs under control in the last two overs.”

Talking about his bowling plans in the crucial overs, he added, “During those slog overs, I knew I could concede some runs, but I was confident in my preparation. I have worked a lot on my yorkers and slower balls throughout the year in Delhi to keep batters guessing. The most important thing was execution. Everything I had planned to do came off well on the field.”

Tyagi also spoke about his role as an all-rounder, saying, “I give equal importance to both my batting and bowling. I see myself as a bowling all-rounder who can bowl a full quota of overs and also contribute down the order with a good strike rate.”

Batting first, Outer Delhi Warriors posted a huge 219/5 in 20 overs. Yajas Sharma led the way with a brilliant 86 off 36 balls after sharing a 120-run opening stand with Priyansh Arya, who scored 30 off 21 balls.

Tyagi then played a quick knock of 32 off 15 balls, while Akshay Saini provided the finishing touch with an unbeaten 49 off 23 balls to take the Warriors past 200.

For Purani Dilli 6, Digvesh Rathi was the best bowler, finishing with 3/25 in four overs.

In the chase, Purani Dilli 6 got off to a strong start as Aryan Gaur and Samarth Seth added 104 runs for the opening wicket. Gaur scored 65 off 37 balls, while Seth made 42 off 24.

However, Aman Chaudhary changed the game by taking three wickets in his first three overs. The wickets put Purani Dilli 6 under pressure and slowed down their chase.

Lalit Yadav and Ashwini Chillar tried to rebuild the innings, but the required run rate kept increasing. With Purani Dilli 6 needing 41 runs from the final over, Outer Delhi Warriors completed a convincing win by 21 runs.
