In Ongoing Season of IPL, the BCCI has introduced stricter guidelines for players, support staff and franchises. The move is aimed at improving security, discipline and professionalism across the league

Focus On Player Safety

One of the biggest points in the new advisory is a warning about “honey trapping” and other security risks. Players have been told to stay careful during the tournament, especially while staying in hotels or meeting outsiders. To tighten security, outsiders are not allowed in players’ hotel rooms without approval from the team manager. Players and staff also cannot leave the team hotel without informing security officials.

Stricter Discipline Around Teams

The BCCI has also asked all players, staff and officials to wear accreditation cards at stadiums, hotels and practice sessions at all times.Another important rule is for franchise owners. Owners have been advised not to communicate with players or coaching staff from the dugout during matches. The board wants to maintain a more professional environment during games.

A New Direction For IPL

Over the years, the IPL has become bigger than just cricket, with constant media attention and celebrity involvement. The BCCI now seems focused on protecting the league’s image and avoiding unnecessary controversies. While some may find the rules strict, IPL 2026 could mark the start of a more disciplined and professionally managed era for the tournament.
