The sons of former India cricketers Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag, Anvay Dravid and Aaryavir Sehwag, have earned places in India’s squad for the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup, scheduled to be held in Muscat, Oman, from November 5 to 14.
The Karnataka batter and his Delhi counterpart were rewarded for their impressive performances in the recently concluded Vinoo Mankad Trophy, where both youngsters showcased their batting prowess with outstanding centuries.
Anvay, 17, grabbed attention with a sensational innings of 151 off just 100 deliveries in the U19 tournament earlier this month. His knock played a crucial role in Karnataka successfully chasing a target of more than 300 runs against Gujarat.
The youngster had also impressed on the international stage during India’s Youth ODI against Sri Lanka in Hambantota in July, scoring 87 off 67 balls.
Aaryavir, 19, was equally impressive in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. Representing Delhi, he produced a remarkable innings of 173 off 143 deliveries against Chandigarh in Vizianagaram, further strengthening his case for selection.
