The Octagon returns to Prudential Center in Newark for a blockbuster night of mixed martial arts action as UFC 328 takes place on Saturday, May 9, 2026 (Sunday, May 10 in India).
The event features two massive title fights, headlined by undefeated middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev taking on former champion Sean Strickland in a highly anticipated grudge match.
In the co-main event, history will be created in the flyweight division as Joshua Van faces Tatsuro Taira in the first UFC title fight between two fighters born in the 21st century.
Main Event: Chimaev vs Strickland
The middleweight championship will be on the line as Chimaev (15-0) looks to make the first successful defence of his title and further cement his reputation as one of the most dominant fighters in MMA.
Standing opposite him will be Strickland (30-7), the outspoken former champion who shocked the MMA world with his famous victory over Israel Adesanya. Known for his relentless pressure, sharp boxing and elite cardio, Strickland believes he has the tools to drag the unbeaten champion into deep waters.
The build-up to the fight has been intense, with Strickland’s trademark trash talk meeting Chimaev’s trademark confidence and promises to “smesh” his opponent inside the cage.
