Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal has landed in legal trouble after a woman from Ghaziabad filed an FIR against him, accusing him of sexual exploitation under the pretext of marriage.
The FIR, lodged at the Indirapuram police station, was filed under BNS Section 69 (sexual intercourse by deceitful means, including false promises of marriage), following the woman’s complaint submitted via the Uttar Pradesh CM’s Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) on June 21. She claimed she was in a relationship with the cricketer for five years and was physically exploited during that time.
In response, the 27-year-old pacer, who recently won the IPL 2025 title with RCB, has broken his silence and filed a counter-complaint at Khuldabad police station in Prayagraj, his hometown. Dayal has urged the police to register an FIR against the woman, accusing her of theft and fraud.
In his complaint, Dayal alleged:
- The woman stole his iPhone and laptop
- She borrowed several lakhs of rupees from him under the guise of medical emergencies and shopping expenses
- She promised to repay the amount but has not done so
- Their acquaintance began via Instagram in 2021, and they stayed in touch afterward
Dayal also mentioned that after learning about the FIR in Ghaziabad, he decided to pursue legal action to defend himself. He has named the woman, two of her family members, and several others in his complaint.
A senior police official confirmed that both sides have filed formal complaints, and investigations are underway.
