The Pakistan Super League is set to land the biggest commercial agreement in Pakistan cricket history, with reports stating that its media rights for the 2026–2029 cycle have been sold for a staggering PKR 2,600 crore.

The landmark deal marks the most valuable broadcast agreement ever secured by the PSL and underlines the league’s rapid commercial growth since its inception.

Expanded League Drives Higher Valuation

The Pakistan Cricket Board opened bidding for a bundled package covering both television and digital rights in Pakistan. The valuation surged significantly after the league expanded from 34 to 44 matches with the addition of two new franchises.

For the 2026 season specifically, the PCB has awarded global broadcast and digital media rights (excluding India) to Walee Technologies. The one-year deal for the league’s 11th edition is reportedly worth PKR 88 crore.

The agreement represents a 149% increase from the previous media rights cycle, reflecting growing investor confidence in the PSL brand.

PSL CEO Hails Historic Deal

PSL CEO Salman Naseer described the agreement as a watershed moment for Pakistan cricket.

“This will be the biggest broadcast deal in the history of not only the PSL but also Pakistan cricket. The steep rise in valuation of PSL’s commercial assets reflects the remarkable growth and credibility of PSL as a world-class league,” Naseer said.

He added that aligning both television and live-streaming rights within Pakistan would enhance fan engagement across multiple platforms, with new innovations planned during the four-year cycle.

Walee’s Vision for a Digital Sports Ecosystem

Walee Technologies CEO Muhammad Ahsan Tahir termed the deal “unprecedented” and outlined ambitious plans for a broader digital transformation.

“This is not just a broadcast deal; it is the foundation of a new digital sports ecosystem that puts fans, creators, publishers and brands all in one place,” Tahir said.

He emphasized that the partnership aims to create greater engagement opportunities for fans while providing brands and stakeholders enhanced access to audiences.

A Defining Moment for PSL

With record-breaking valuations and expanded reach, the PSL continues to strengthen its position among global T20 leagues. The new rights cycle from 2026 to 2029 could prove transformative, not just for the league but for the overall commercial landscape of Pakistan cricket.
