Indore, Madhya Pradesh, June 5: It was another thrilling contest in the Aditya Birla Group Madhya Pradesh League (MPL) T20 Scindia Cup 2026 as Ujjain Falcons and Malwa Stallions treated fans to a high-voltage encounter and lit up the Friday night at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. The Stallions eventually chased down the target of 207 by 6 wickets with 10 balls to spare.
Batting first, Ujjain Falcons posted an imposing 206/8 in 20 overs, thanks to several valuable contributions throughout the innings.
Openers Yash Dubey and captain Chanchal Rathore gave the Falcons a positive start, adding 39 runs for the first wicket in just 4.2 overs before Dubey departed after scoring 17 off 11 balls.
The Falcons then lost Shubham Khushwah for 10, but the arrival of young all-rounder Madhav Tiwari changed the momentum of the innings. Tiwari and Rathore stitched together an excellent partnership, taking the attack to the bowlers while also showing patience against the good deliveries.
The duo kept the scoreboard moving at a brisk pace and put the opposition under pressure before the Falcons suffered a brief setback with the dismissal of both set batters in quick succession. Tiwari played an entertaining knock of 43 off 24 balls, while Rathore led from the front with a well-crafted half-century.
Although wickets continued to fall at regular intervals, Ojaswa Yadav and Rishi Miglani provided the late flourish the team needed. The pair added a quickfire 47-run partnership, helping the Falcons surge past the 200-run mark.
Yadav smashed 34 off 17 deliveries, while Miglani produced a blistering 27 off just 11 balls, ensuring Ujjain Falcons finished with a formidable total on the board.
Ashutosh Sharma was the pick of the bowlers who scalped three wickets for 15 runs in two overs.
In reply, Malwa Stallions got off to a steady start as Aryan Deshmukh and Ansh Yadav added 47 runs in 5.1 overs for the opening wicket. However, the momentum briefly shifted when the Falcons struck twice in quick succession to remove both openers.
Prashant Kasde and Akhil Nigote Yadav then steadied the innings and rebuilt the chase. Kasde took the attacking route, putting the bowlers under pressure from the outset. The left-hander raced to a blistering half-century in just 19 deliveries, swinging the momentum back in the Stallions’ favour.
The Falcons finally found a breakthrough when Kasde mistimed a shot and was caught in the deep off Aayush Mankar after a scintillating 52 off 25 balls. Captain Ashutosh Sharma looked dangerous during his short stay at the crease, scoring 19 off just 7 deliveries, but he too was dismissed while trying to accelerate.
Despite the setbacks, Akhil Nigote Yadav kept his composure and continued the assault. The batter brought up a well-deserved half-century and remained in control till the very end, guiding Malwa Stallions home with some powerful hitting to complete a memorable chase.
