Aaryavir Sehwag, son of former India opener Virender Sehwag, has earned his maiden India U19 call-up after being named in the squad for the three-match One-Day series against Australia in September.
Aaryavir, a right-handed batter, has been rewarded for his recent performances. The youngster is currently playing for West Delhi Lions in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026, where his attacking style of batting has caught the eye.
He had earlier made headlines during the 2024 Cooch Behar Trophy, smashing a remarkable 297 against Meghalaya.
Wicketkeeper-batter Anvay Dravid has also retained his place in the India U19 One-Day squad. He impressed during India’s tour of Sri Lanka in July, scoring a crucial 87.
However, neither Aaryavir nor Anvay has been included in the squad for the two Multi-Day fixtures against Australia.
Leadership changes for One-Day and Multi-Day fixtures
Lakshya Raichandani will captain India in the three One-Day matches, with Yashbardhan Chauhan named as his deputy. The two players will swap roles for the Multi-Day fixtures, with Chauhan taking over as captain and Raichandani serving as vice-captain.
India will play the three One-Day matches against Australia in Rajkot, with the games scheduled for September 18, 21 and 23.
Rajkot will also host the first Multi-Day fixture from September 27 to 30, while the second match will be played at Ahmedabad (B Ground) from October 5 to 8.
