Smith went on to produce a sensational knock, smashing a blistering century at a strike rate of 238.10, while his opening partner Babar played a steadier hand, scoring 47 off 39 deliveries. The duo added a rapid 141-run partnership for the first wicket in just 12.1 overs, putting the Sixers firmly in control of the chase.
Smith was also involved in another eye-catching moment during the Thunder innings. In the 16th over, Nic Maddinson launched Ben Manenti straight down the ground.
