Vaibhav Sooryavanshi delivered a breathtaking performance for Rajasthan Royals, blasting a sensational 36-ball century against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Saturday, April 25.
The young star reached his hundred in style, launching Sakib Hussain for a towering six in the 14th over. Facing a fuller delivery outside off, Sooryavanshi stood deep in his crease and lofted it cleanly over long-on to bring up his milestone.
His celebration was just as memorable. After removing his helmet and gloves, Sooryavanshi gestured a heart towards the crowd before saluting the dugout — a moment that quickly caught the attention of fans. However, the joy was short-lived as he was trapped LBW by Hussain on the very next delivery.
Sooryavanshi made the most of an early reprieve when he was on 32, punishing Hyderabad’s bowlers to register his second IPL hundred and first of the 2026 season. The knock came on the back of a rich vein of form, having already struck three explosive fifties earlier in the campaign.
Blending brute power with elegant timing, Sooryavanshi dominated the bowling attack, smashing 12 sixes and five fours in a blistering 37-ball 103. His innings also marked the third-fastest century in IPL history, behind his own 35-ball ton from last season and Chris Gayle’s iconic 30-ball hundred in 2013.
He set the tone early, taking on Praful Hinge in the opening over with four towering sixes, and never looked back thereafter, producing one of the most explosive innings of the season.
