Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has once again given fans hope about his future in ODI cricket. During a recent podcast by Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Kohli spoke about the possibility of playing in the 2027 ODI World Cup and made it clear that he still wants to continue representing India.

“Ofcourse, I Want To Play”

In the podcast, Kohli said he has been asked many times whether he wants to play the 2027 World Cup. Responding to that, he said there is no reason to stop hoping or thinking about the future right now. He added that he still wants to play cricket and continue playing for India in World Cups. His statement quickly went viral on social media as fans were happy to hear that the former India captain is still motivated to play at the highest level.

Kohli Still Loves ODI Cricket

Even after retiring from T20 internationals and Test cricket, Kohli’s passion for ODI cricket remains strong. The 50-over format has always been special for him, and his performances in recent years prove that he is still among the best batters in the world. In the 2023 ODI World Cup, Kohli finished as the highest run-scorer and also broke several records, including Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most ODI centuries.

Fitness Gives Him Confidence

One major reason why fans believe Kohli can play till 2027 is his fitness. Over the years, he has maintained very high fitness standards and continues to perform consistently in the IPL for RCB.Even at this stage of his career, Kohli remains one of the fittest cricketers in the game. His discipline, training routine, and hunger to improve have helped him stay at the top for so long.

Big Boost For Indian Fans

Kohli’s experience in ICC tournaments could be very important for India in the future. Young players can benefit a lot from having someone like him in the dressing room during major tournaments. For now, one thing is clear Virat Kohli still has the desire to play for India, and the dream of seeing him in the 2027 ODI World Cup is still alive.
