Punjab batter Naman Dhir and Jammu & Kashmir pacer Auqib Nabi have earned their maiden India ODI call-ups for the upcoming three-match series against the West Indies.
The BCCI announced India’s ODI and T20I squads on Wednesday (September 16), with the home series set to begin on September 27 in Thiruvananthapuram.
Shubman Gill will continue to lead India in the three-match ODI series, while Shreyas Iyer has been named captain for the five-match T20I series after returning from Japan following the conclusion of the Asian Games 2026.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retained their places in the ODI squad, while Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj have also returned after missing India’s ODI series against England in July 2026.
The ODI squad also includes Gurnoor Brar, KL Rahul, Prasidh Krishna and Kuldeep Yadav, while Ruturaj Gaikwad, Dhruv Jurel, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been included as well.
With Shreyas Iyer leading the T20I side, KL Rahul has been named Gill’s deputy for the ODI series.
Naman and Auqib are the only two new faces in the 50-over squad. Neither player has represented India at the international level in any format so far. Auqib, however, was part of India’s Test squad for the tour of Sri Lanka last month.
Naman has been rewarded for his performances in domestic cricket and the T20 circuit, while Auqib has emerged as one of Jammu & Kashmir’s promising pace options.
Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar Reddy has been withdrawn from India’s Asian Games 2026 squad and will instead feature in the ODI series against the West Indies.

Kuldeep, Mayank Yadav Return for T20Is
In the T20I squad, Kuldeep Yadav, Prince Yadav and Mayank Yadav have returned to the side. They replace Varun Chakaravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah and Yash Thakur.
Bumrah and Thakur are part of India’s T20I squad for the ongoing series against Afghanistan and are also set to feature at the Asian Games. However, they have not been included for the subsequent five-match T20I series against the West Indies.
