The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has withdrawn left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman’s No-Objection Certificate (NOC) for the remainder of the Pakistan Super League 2026 season on medical grounds, ruling him out of Lahore Qalandars’ remaining matches.
Mustafizur had initially been granted a split NOC covering two phases — from the start of the tournament until April 12, and again from April 24 to May 3. During the interim period, he was scheduled to represent Bangladesh in the ODI series against New Zealand national cricket team.
However, the pacer missed the first two ODIs due to injury before making a strong return in the series decider, where he delivered a match-winning five-wicket haul. Following that game, the BCB medical team reassessed his condition.
In an official statement, the board confirmed that Mustafizur will now undergo further medical evaluation.
“The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) wishes to inform that, following the conclusion of the 3rd ODI against New Zealand, the team’s medical staff has reviewed the condition of national team pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman,” the statement read.
“It has been decided that the player will undergo an immediate scan to further assess his condition, after which he will commence a rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the BCB Medical Team. In this regard, the Board has withdrawn the No Objection Certificate (NOC) previously issued to Mustafizur. He will therefore not be available to participate in the remainder of PSL 2026,” it added.
In a related development, the BCB has also cancelled the NOC of fellow pacer Nahid Rana.
