Opting to bat first in Dallas, MI New York posted 180/7. Openers Monank Patel (28 off 22) and Quinton de Kock (77 off 46) provided a flying start, adding 72 runs in 7.1 overs. Captain Nicholas Pooran chipped in with 21, forging a key 56-run stand with de Kock.
Lockie Ferguson was the pick of the bowlers for Washington, taking 3 wickets, while Ian Holland, Jack Edwards, Glenn Maxwell, and Saurabh Netravalkar claimed one apiece.
Chasing 181, Washington Freedom stumbled early, losing two wickets in the first five balls. However, Rachin Ravindra (unbeaten) and Jack Edwards (33 off 22) revived hopes with an 84-run stand for the third wicket. Despite their efforts, Washington could only reach 175/5, falling just short.
