Mohsin Khan etched his name into the record books on Sunday (April 26), becoming the first uncapped player to claim a five-wicket haul in an Indian Premier League match against Kolkata Knight Riders.
The 27-year-old left-arm pacer from Sambhal delivered a sensational spell for Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, finishing with outstanding figures of 5/23 in four overs.
Mohsin struck early, dismissing Tim Seifert for a three-ball duck in his opening over, with the batter caught by Mukul Choudhary. He then removed KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane (10) in his second over, courtesy of a catch by Aiden Markram.
Continuing his dominance, Mohsin accounted for Rovman Powell (1), who was caught by Rishabh Pant, before producing a stunning final over. On consecutive deliveries, he dismissed Cameron Green (34) — again caught by Pant — and Anukul Roy, who fell for a duck with Ayush Badoni completing the catch.
With this performance, Mohsin also became the first bowler to register a five-wicket haul in IPL 2026.
Overall, he is the third bowler to take a five-for against KKR in IPL history. Yuzvendra Chahal was the first to achieve the feat, returning 5/40 for Rajasthan Royals in 2022, followed by Jasprit Bumrah, who produced a remarkable 5/10 for Mumbai Indians later that same season.
Mohsin’s spell not only dismantled KKR’s batting lineup but also marked one of the standout bowling performances of the IPL 2026 season so far.
