An England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) security team has arrived in Pakistan to assess the arrangements ahead of England’s participation in the upcoming ODI tri-nation series.
The delegation includes independent security specialists who will inspect the venues and team hotels and hold meetings with officials from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the government. The team is also expected to receive detailed briefings on the security measures being put in place for the tour.
The delegation will inspect facilities in Lahore and Rawalpindi on Monday before compiling a report for the ECB.
A PCB official said such visits have become a standard part of preparations, with most international teams carrying out security assessments before travelling to Pakistan.
The ODI tri-series, featuring Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka, is scheduled to be played from October 18 to 31. Matches will be held at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
Sri Lanka are scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on October 4 for a three-match T20I series against the hosts. All three matches will be played in Rawalpindi from October 9 to 13, following which England will join the two teams for the ODI tri-series.
England have toured Pakistan three times since 2022, playing Test series as well as a six-match T20I series during that period.
