Dehradun, September 4: Amid heavy rain a thrilling contest was witnessed at the Abhimanyu Cricket Academy ground on Friday in the Dehradun T20 League 2026, with Doiwala Kings registering a 10-wicket victory.

The match between Mussoorie Thunder and Doiwala Kings was repeatedly disrupted by heavy rain, with the downpour at one stage putting the game on the verge of being completely abandoned.

However, despite the challenging weather conditions, the efforts of the ground staff at Abhimanyu Cricket Academy made it possible for play to resume. As soon as the heavy rain stopped, the ground staff worked tirelessly to remove water from the field and make the pitch playable. Using the modern drainage system and super soppers, the staff managed to prepare the outfield and pitch in a relatively short period of time.

As per the tournament’s playing conditions and regulations, if time permits, a one-over-per-side contest can be conducted as the final option to determine a result. Accordingly, a one-over-per-side match was organised between the two teams to decide the outcome.

After winning the toss and electing to field first, Doiwala Kings invited Mussoorie Thunder to bat. For Mussoorie Thunder, Ayush Chauhan scored a quick 12 runs off four balls, including two sixes, while Akhil Singh Rawat remained unbeaten on three. Doiwala Kings bowler Avneesh Sudha dismissed Ayush Chauhan, who was caught out, restricting Mussoorie Thunder to 15/1 in their one over.

Chasing a target of 16, Doiwala Kings did not even have to wait for the final ball of the over. Opening batter Avneesh Sudha produced a sensational display, scoring 16 runs with one four and two sixes. Doiwala Kings also benefited from a no-ball in Shubham Nelwal’s over and raced to 17/0 in just 0.5 overs, sealing the thrilling contest by 10 wickets without losing a wicket.
