Bathinda Royals registered a comfortable eight-wicket win over Amritsar Soormas in a rain-curtailed fixture of the Mankind Pharma Sher-e-Punjab T20 League 2026 Powered by Punjab Kings at the I.S. Bindra Stadium, Mohali.

Amritsar Soormas could only manage 105/7 in their allotted 11 overs after rain interrupted the game and reduced the contest to 11 overs per side.

The Soormas lost a couple of early wickets before the rain arrived in the fifth over. Following the resumption, they looked to score quickly but struggled to build partnerships as wickets continued to fall at regular intervals.

Abhay Choudhary provided some much-needed momentum with a quick-fire 36 off 21 balls. He played some attacking shots and kept the scoreboard moving before being run out in the final over.

Rahul Kumar also made a useful contribution, scoring 25 off just 12 balls. However, apart from these two knocks, the Amritsar batters could not make a big impact, and the regular fall of wickets prevented them from posting a challenging total.

For Bathinda, Ashwani Kumar and Sumit Sharma were the most effective bowlers. Ashwani picked up one wicket while conceding just 22 runs in his three overs, while Sumit also claimed one wicket and finished with figures of 1/14 from his two overs.

Chasing a revised target of 107, Bathinda Royals made light work of the target, with Uday Saharan leading the charge. The right-hander produced a stunning batting display and smashed the joint-fastest fifty of the tournament, reaching the milestone in just 16 balls.

Bathinda did lose Noorveer early, but Saharan and Harnoor Singh quickly took control of the chase. The pair attacked the Amritsar bowlers and added 73 runs for the second wicket, putting Bathinda firmly in command.

Saharan continued his aggressive approach and brought up a superb 60 off just 20 balls. He eventually fell while attempting another big shot, hitting the ball in the air and finding a fielder in the deep.

However, his dismissal did little to change the course of the game. Harnoor stayed till the end and calmly guided Bathinda Royals over the line, remaining unbeaten on 29 off 15 balls.

  • Uday Saharan has brought up the tournament’s joint-fastest 50 in 16 deliveries
  • Bathinda Royals are off to a flying start and have been scoring runs quickly but Pandey got the first breakthrough on the final ball of the second over. He has removed Noorveer Singh for 12 off 8

Amritsar Soormas could only manage 105/7 in their allotted 11 overs after rain interrupted the game and reduced the match to 11 overs per side.

The Soormas lost a couple of early wickets before the rain arrived in the fifth over. With the game shortened, they needed to score quickly but struggled to build partnerships as wickets kept falling at regular intervals.

Abhay Choudhary provided some much-needed momentum with a quick-fire 36 off 21 balls. He looked to attack the bowlers and keep the scoreboard moving but was eventually run out in the final over.

Rahul Kumar also played an important cameo, scoring 25 off just 12 balls. However, apart from these two contributions, the Amritsar batters found it difficult to score freely, and the regular fall of wickets prevented them from posting a bigger total.

For the opposition, Ashwani Kumar and Sumit Sharma were the most effective bowlers. Ashwani picked up one wicket while conceding just 22 runs in his three overs. Sumit also claimed one wicket and finished with impressive figures of 1/14 from his two overs.

With Amritsar restricted to 105/7, the Soormas will need an excellent bowling effort to defend the total in the shortened contest.
