Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar, emerged as one of the headline buys at the T20 Mumbai League 2026 auction on Saturday. Despite limited opportunities in the Indian Premier League, the young all-rounder secured a significant deal, with ARCS Andheri signing him for ₹10 lakh — a 400% jump from his base price of ₹2 lakh.

Arjun is yet to feature in a match for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026, having been traded from Mumbai Indians ahead of the season for ₹30 lakh. As per league regulations, he will earn 33.3% of his IPL salary from LSG. Despite representing a different state association last season, he has been cleared to participate in the Mumbai league and is set to make his debut in the competition.

The auction saw intense bidding activity as franchises looked to build balanced squads. ARCS Andheri were particularly active, also securing Musheer Khan for ₹11 lakh and wicketkeeper-batter Prasad Pawar for ₹11.5 lakh. Meanwhile, SoBo Mumbai Falcons made one of the top purchases by signing all-rounder Akash Parkar for ₹12 lakh.

Arjun has represented Goa cricket team in recent seasons after moving from Mumbai. However, he was deemed eligible for the tournament under Board of Control for Cricket in India guidelines, which allow players to participate in a league if they have not featured in any other state league in the previous 12 months. The rule is aimed at managing player workload and ensuring participation is limited to one recognised league (excluding the IPL) within a year.

So far in IPL 2026, Arjun is yet to get a game for LSG, who have struggled this season and are currently placed near the bottom of the points table. With concerns around batting depth, the all-rounder could emerge as a potential option in the playing XI as the team looks to turn its campaign around.
