The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is currently dealing with ownership disputes involving at least two franchises in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

According to PTI, a disagreement has emerged over the majority ownership of the newly auctioned Sialkot franchise, which was recently bought for PKR 185 crore by a consortium.

One of the stakeholders, Muhammad Shahid, has reportedly filed a complaint with PSL CEO Salman Naseer, claiming he owns a 76% stake in the franchise. Shahid has alleged that his partners, who collectively hold the remaining 24%, are attempting to sell shares without his knowledge or consent.

“The majority shareholder has informed the PSL CEO that minority partners are trying to negotiate deals and offload more shares than they own,” a source told PTI.

Shahid, who is based overseas, also shared a video on social media reiterating his claims and accusing his partners of trying to finalise agreements behind his back.

The Sialkot franchise consortium includes Kamil Khan, a relative of a former Pakistan captain, although sources have clarified that he is not directly involved in the dispute.

In a separate development, one of the original owners of Lahore Qalandars, Fawad Rana, has also approached Naseer regarding majority ownership issues. Rana recently secured a favourable court verdict in a case against his brothers, Atif Rana and Sameer Rana.

As per court documents cited in the report, Fawad Rana alleged that his brothers sold shares in his company without his consent. Following the ruling in his favour, he has formally taken up the matter with the PSL CEO.
