In Test cricket, a triple century is one of the rarest milestones a batter can achieve. It demands not just skill, but also immense patience, concentration, and the ability to dominate bowlers across multiple sessions. While scoring 300 runs in a single innings is a once-in-a-lifetime feat for most cricketers, a handful of batting greats have managed to scale the mountain more than once.

These legends form a unique club of players who etched their names into cricketing folklore with multiple triple centuries.

Don Bradman – The Pioneer of Big Scores

Sir Donald Bradman, widely regarded as the greatest batter in history, was the first to achieve the milestone of scoring more than one triple ton. His 334 against England at Leeds in 1930 remains iconic, followed by another triple — 304 against England in 1934. Bradman came agonisingly close to a third on two other occasions, scoring 299* and 270. His appetite for big runs was unmatched, and his dominance in the 1930s redefined batting standards.

Brian Lara – The Record Holder

If there is one name synonymous with monumental innings, it is Brian Lara. The West Indian genius became the first man to score two quadruple-sized knocks in Test history. His 375 against England in 1994 stood as the world record for the highest individual Test score until he reclaimed it a decade later with an unbeaten 400 in 2004*. Lara’s flair, elegance, and sheer ability to bat for days make him a true giant of the game.

Virender Sehwag – The Fearless Destroyer

Virender Sehwag brought his attacking brand of cricket into the longest format, turning Tests on their head with his aggressive strokeplay. He struck 309 against Pakistan in Multan in 2004, an innings that earned him the title of “Sultan of Multan.” Four years later, he smashed 319 against South Africa in Chennai, a knock that remains the fastest triple century in Test history. Sehwag’s fearless approach made him one of the most dangerous openers in cricket.

Chris Gayle – Power Meets Patience

Known as the “Universe Boss” for his exploits in T20 cricket, Chris Gayle also had the temperament to bat long in Tests. He notched up 317 against South Africa in 2005, followed by 333 against Sri Lanka in 2010. Gayle combined raw power with remarkable patience, proving that he could thrive not only in the shortest format but also in the most traditional form of the game.
