Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was undoubtedly one of the biggest stars of IPL 2026. The 15-year-old batting sensation enjoyed a record-breaking season for Rajasthan Royals, scoring runs consistently and shattering several long-standing records along the way. His remarkable performances played a key role in helping Rajasthan Royals reach Qualifier 2, making him one of the most talked-about cricketers of the tournament.
With IPL 2026 now coming to an end, fans eager to watch Sooryavanshi in action again will not have to wait long.
The young opener is set to return to the field in less than 10 days after earning his maiden call-up to the India A squad for the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka. The tournament will feature India A, Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A, with all matches being played in the One-Day format.
Led by Riyan Parag, India A will begin their campaign against Sri Lanka A on June 9. They will then take on Afghanistan A on June 11, followed by two more league-stage fixtures before the final, which is scheduled to be played on June 21.

Sooryavanshi heads into the tournament on the back of one of the greatest individual IPL seasons ever produced by a batter. The left-hander scored 776 runs in IPL 2026 and currently leads the race for the Orange Cap.
He also broke Chris Gayle’s long-standing record for the most sixes in a single IPL season, smashing an incredible 72 sixes during the campaign. In addition, he became the first player in IPL history to score more than 600 runs in a season at a strike rate above 200.
The teenager finished the season with a staggering strike rate of 237.3, hitting 72 sixes and 63 fours. He also registered one century and five half-centuries, while suffering the heartbreak of getting dismissed in the nineties on three occasions.
Having already established himself as one of the brightest young talents in world cricket, Sooryavanshi will now look to carry his IPL form into the India A setup and continue his rapid rise through the ranks.
