In a rare and heartwarming moment in cricket, fans witnessed a father-son face-off during a Shpageeza Cricket League (SCL) match on Tuesday, July 22, as 18-year-old Hassan Eisakhil smashed a six off his father, Afghanistan legend Mohammad Nabi.

The moment unfolded during the clash between Amo Sharks and Mis Ainak Knights. Eisakhil, opening the innings for the Sharks, was in fine touch, top-scoring with 52 off 36 balls. In the 9th over, when Nabi came on to bowl, Eisakhil confidently stepped out and launched a towering six into the stands — a shot that brought smiles to both players and roars from the crowd.

However, Nabi had the last laugh, hitting the winning runs — a six of his own — as Mis Ainak Knights chased down 162 with 18 balls to spare, winning by five wickets and going top of the table.

A Son vs. Father moment, followed by some delightful strokes from Hassan Eisakhil to bring up his half-century. 🤩👏

Earlier this year, during the Champions Trophy, Nabi had spoken of his dream to play international cricket alongside his son.

“It’s my dream. Hopefully, we can do it,” Nabi told ICC. “He’s a hard worker, and I push him to give his best. I always tell him — 50 or 60 isn’t enough, aim for 100-plus.”

If the dream comes true, Nabi and Eisakhil could become the first father-son duo to represent Afghanistan together in ODIs — a historic moment in the making.
