Saint Lucia Kings (SLK) continued their winning-run in the ongoing edition of Caribbean Premier League (CPL) on Sunday as the defending Champions defeated the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons (ABF) by 6 wickets in a high-scoring encounter at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium. This is SLK’s third win on the trot.
Batting first, the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons posted a formidable total of 204 for 4. Shakib Al Hasan was the star of the innings, smashing a quickfire 61 off just 26 balls. Tabraiz Shamsi was the pick of the bowlers for the Kings, taking 3 wickets.
In response, SLK chased down the target with over two overs to spare, finishing at 206 for 4 in 17.5 overs, with Tim Seifert playing a match-winning knock of 125* runs off 53 balls. He smashed 10 fours and 9 sixes in his innings. Johnson Charles, Ackeem Auguste and Tim David also made valuable contributions with the bat.
Seifert was named the Player of the Match for his sensational century.
The Kings will next face the Trinbago Knight Riders on Wednesday, September 3rd, in Tarouba, Trinidad.
