Pakistan will face Namibia in their final group-stage fixture of the 2026 T20 World Cup in Colombo on Wednesday. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM IST, with the toss taking place at 2:30 PM IST.

Weather Report

The forecast suggests overcast conditions with considerable cloud cover, but there is no significant threat of rain. Temperatures are expected to range between 24 and 28 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels close to 80 percent. Winds are likely to blow at around 10–15 km/h. While conditions may feel heavy, a full game is expected.

What’s at Stake for Pakistan?

It is a crucial encounter for Pakistan, who currently have four points from three matches. A win — or even a washout — will confirm their qualification for the Super 8 stage.

However, a defeat to Namibia would leave their fate dependent on the result of the India vs Netherlands clash later in the evening. The Netherlands, currently with a net run rate of -1.352, would need a convincing victory to move to four points and potentially edge past Pakistan on NRR.

If Pakistan qualify, they will join New Zealand, England and Sri Lanka in Group 2 of the Super 8 stage.

Pakistan’s Campaign So Far

Pakistan began their campaign with a thrilling win over the Netherlands. Chasing a stiff target, Salman Ali Agha’s side required 29 runs off the final two overs before Faheem Ashraf turned the match around with a stunning assault, smashing 24 runs in the penultimate over and finishing unbeaten on 29 off just 11 deliveries.

They followed it up with a comfortable win over the USA but suffered a heavy defeat against India. The Men in Blue posted 175/7, powered by Ishan Kishan’s 77 off 40 balls, before bowling Pakistan out for 114 in Colombo.

Reflecting on the loss, captain Salman Ali Agha said:

“We were believing in our spinners and they had an off day today. Execution was missing in some parts of the game. We always back our spinners because they’ve done really well over the last six months. With the batting, we didn’t start well and in T20 cricket, if you lose three or four wickets in the powerplay, you are always chasing the game.”

With qualification on the line, Pakistan will be keen to deliver a clinical performance and avoid leaving their fate to other results.
