RCB vs KKR Weather Report: Rain Threat Looms Over Crucial IPL 2026 Clash In Raipur

The Indian Premier League 2026 playoff race is heating up as Royal Challengers Bengaluru take on Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 57 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium on Wednesday, May 13.

While RCB need just one more victory to officially seal a playoff berth, KKR are fighting for survival and must continue their winning streak to stay in contention. However, the biggest concern ahead of the high-stakes clash is the weather in Raipur.

RCB vs KKR Weather Report

Raipur has witnessed unstable weather conditions since late afternoon, with rain threatening to disrupt the contest.

Weather FactorDetails
Temperature37°C (Feels like 40°C)
Humidity37%
Current ConditionPeriodically heavy rain
Chance of Rain56% currently
Forecast For Match DayLight rain expected
Daytime Precipitation Chance61%
Wind Speed3 mph (Southwest)
IMD AlertYellow alert issued

If rain persists into the evening, the match could face delays or even a complete washout. In that scenario, both teams would receive one point each — a result that would significantly hurt KKR’s playoff hopes while delaying RCB’s qualification confirmation.

Pitch Report: Raipur Expected To Assist Bowlers

The black-soil surface at Raipur has shown signs of offering assistance to bowlers, especially seamers and spinners.

Unlike the batting-friendly tracks in Bengaluru, the larger boundaries at this venue — approximately 80 metres — force batters to work harder for boundaries.

Pacers who can exploit movement with the new ball, such as Bhuvneshwar Kumar, are expected to enjoy the conditions. Spinners like Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy could also play a decisive role if the surface slows down due to moisture.

Raipur Weather Trend Over The Past Week

Raipur has experienced extreme pre-monsoon conditions recently, with temperatures ranging between 39°C and 42°C. The city had mostly dry weather earlier in the week, aided by strong wind gusts touching 29 knots.

However, increased moisture and the latest yellow alert have now brought rain into the picture ahead of the marquee IPL clash.

Recent games at the venue have favoured chasing teams, while bowlers who execute well at the death — including Jasprit Bumrah and Matheesha Pathirana — have enjoyed considerable success.
