The drama surrounding the India vs Pakistan clash in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 refuses to die down.
A day after the Government of Pakistan announced that the national team will boycott the Group A match against India in Colombo on February 15, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly decided not to send any formal communication to the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding the boycott.
“Pakistan will not send any formal email to the ICC regarding boycotting the T20 World Cup match against India,” sources told NDTV.
With no official intimation from the PCB, the India-Pakistan fixture remains officially on the schedule, prolonging uncertainty around the high-voltage encounter. The ICC is understood to be awaiting a formal response from the PCB, and in the absence of one, the global body is unlikely to take any immediate action.
Meanwhile, India are set to travel to Colombo for the February 15 fixture and will attend the pre-match press conference as scheduled. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav will walk out for the toss.
If Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha fails to appear for the toss, the match referee will award a walkover and two points to India. However, if India do not travel to Colombo, both teams will receive one point each.
