The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday confirmed that South Africa will tour Pakistan in October for a multi-format series featuring two Tests, three T20Is, and three ODIs.
The series begins on October 12 in Lahore, with the first of two Tests that will also mark the start of the 2025-27 ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle for both sides. South Africa enter the contest as the reigning WTC champions, having won the 2023-25 edition. The second Test will be held in Rawalpindi from October 20-24.
The focus will then shift to white-ball cricket. Rawalpindi hosts the opening T20I on October 28, before the action moves to Lahore for the remaining two T20Is on October 31 and November 1.
The ODI leg will be played in Faisalabad at the Iqbal Stadium on November 4, 6, and 8. The venue will be hosting an ODI after a gap of 17 years, its last one being in 2008 when Pakistan played Bangladesh.
This tour marks South Africa’s return to Pakistan after four years in both Test and T20I formats. They last played a Test series in the country in 2021, which Pakistan won 2-0. The ODI team, however, featured in the ICC Champions Trophy earlier this year, making it to the semifinals before losing to New Zealand.
