Nahid Rana is set to return to the Pakistan Super League 2026 after the Bangladesh Cricket Board granted him a fresh No-Objection Certificate (NOC), reversing its earlier decision to withdraw him from the tournament.

The BCB had initially allowed Nahid to feature in the PSL only until April 13 before pulling him out to manage his workload. However, the young pacer is now expected to rejoin Peshawar Zalmi for the final on May 3. His return comes despite being rested for the first two T20Is of Bangladesh’s ongoing home series against the New Zealand men’s cricket team.

In a statement, the BCB said the decision was made considering the importance of playing in a major franchise final and its value for the player’s development. The board also confirmed that both team management and medical staff have cleared Nahid’s participation, assuring that it will not affect his fitness, workload management, or availability for national duty.

Nahid has been in impressive form in recent weeks. In four matches for Peshawar Zalmi earlier in the tournament, he picked up seven wickets at an average of 10.85 and an economy rate of 5.42. His standout performance came against Karachi Kings, where he returned figures of 3/7.

He carried that momentum into international cricket as well, starring for the Bangladesh men’s cricket team with figures of 5/32 in the second ODI against New Zealand. He finished as the leading wicket-taker of the series with eight wickets at an average of 16.75.

Although the PSL final is scheduled just five days before Bangladesh’s Test series against the Pakistan men’s cricket team, starting May 8 in Dhaka, the BCB has confirmed that Nahid remains on track to be available for the red-ball assignment.
