Sunrisers Hyderabad sealed their place in the IPL 2026 playoffs with a crucial five-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk on Monday. The result also confirmed playoff qualification for Gujarat Titans, while CSK’s qualification hopes now hang by a thread.
SRH skipper Pat Cummins led from the front with a superb spell of 3/28 to restrict Chennai to 179 runs in the first innings. In reply, Ishan Kishan anchored the chase brilliantly with 70 off 47 balls, smashing seven fours and three sixes. Heinrich Klaasen provided strong support with a quickfire 47 off 26 deliveries as SRH chased down the target in the 19th over.
