Ahead of the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan clash on February 15, a bizarre incident at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo has taken the internet by storm. A snake was spotted inside Pakistan’s dugout during a practice session on the eve of the blockbuster encounter in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

A video of the reptile inside the dugout quickly went viral on social media. Ground staff and officials were seen calmly stepping in to rescue the snake and ensure the area was safe. The incident occurred on Friday evening, shortly before the Pakistan national cricket team arrived at the venue for training. Officials swiftly brought the situation under control, allowing preparations to continue without further disruption.

Meanwhile, the focus has firmly shifted back to cricket as both teams gear up for one of the sport’s fiercest rivalries.

Pakistan’s batting star Babar Azam spoke about the importance of staying calm and composed during an India-Pakistan contest, acknowledging the unique intensity surrounding the fixture.

“Look, as we discussed, an India–Pakistan match is always high-intensity. The whole world is involved — all the fans, both countries — and like you said, it feels like the entire world is watching. It then goes to a different level, and the expectations also rise to a completely different level,” Babar said in a video released by ESPNcricinfo.

He stressed the need to block out external noise and remain focused. “We have played quite a few such matches, and we’ve learned that the calmer and more relaxed you keep yourself, and the less you listen to outside noise, the better it is. If you stay straightforward and focused, that helps a lot,” he added.

Babar also highlighted the importance of guiding younger players through the pressure. “From our experience, we talk to the youngsters as well and tell them that yes, there is excitement, but the more you stay easy and tension-free, the better it will be for you,” he said.

On the other side, India’s T20 skipper Suryakumar Yadav admitted that pressure is inevitable in such a high-profile contest.

“There’s always pressure. With India-Pakistan, it’s more of an occasion. No matter how much we say ‘it’s just another game’, it’s human nature to feel the pressure because it isn’t just any other game. We don’t play them often either. So the pressure is always there,” Suryakumar said during the pre-match press conference.

With emotions running high and the world watching, both teams will now look to channel that intensity into performance when they step onto the field for yet another chapter in this historic rivalry.
