Sunrisers Hyderabad climbed to the top of the TATA IPL 2026 points table with a 33-run win over Punjab Kings. Speaking on Star Sports’ ‘Amul Cricket Live’, JioStar experts Saba Karim and Sanjay Bangar analysed Heinrich Klaasen’s impact, Cooper Connolly’s consistency and previewed today’s ‘Revenge Week’ fixture between LSG and RCB.
Speaking on Star Sports’ ‘Amul Cricket Live’, JioStar expert Saba Karim highlighted Heinrich Klaasen’s performance:
“He looks extremely self-assured and brings that assurance to the dressing room when he walks out to bat. Even after getting out early in the previous game, he has shown how much work he has put in, especially against quality spin. He picks the length very early, is extremely comfortable off the back foot, and generates significant power. Batting at No. 4, he understands the responsibility to bat long. He has also played a key role in guiding younger players like Nitish and Salil, giving them confidence and clarity. He has fulfilled his role for SRH exceptionally well.”
On Punjab Kings’ concerns:
“Punjab Kings are going through a difficult phase and need to recover quickly. Teams often start strong and then face a dip and managing that phase is the real challenge. Their top order, which looked strong earlier, has lost momentum, with players like Shreyas Iyer and Priyansh Arya struggling for runs. The bowling also remains a concern, although it was good to see Lockie Ferguson back. Fielding has not supported them either and these are areas they need to address quickly to get back to winning ways.”
Speaking on Star Sports’ ‘Amul Cricket Live’, JioStar expert Sanjay Bangar spoke about Cooper Connolly’s impact:
“He made an immediate impact for Punjab Kings, starting from his very first game against GT with a useful knock. Since then, he has been fairly consistent, and while a few failures are expected in T20 cricket, his overall contribution has been solid. He understands his scoring areas well, prefers playing through the off-side, and backs his strengths. That is always encouraging to see in a young batter developing his all-round game.”
On today’s ‘Revenge Week’ fixture between LSG and RCB:
“LSG will need strong contributions from their overseas batters if they are to challenge RCB, who are currently in excellent form. RCB’s batting looks well-settled, with players like Devdutt Padikkal and Rajat Patidar performing consistently, along with useful contributions from the lower order. It promises to be an exciting contest, and a win here could put RCB in contention for the top spot.”
