BCA President Harshvardhan expresses pride as Bihar pacer Vasudeo Prasad selected for MRF’s Australia training programme

Patna (Bihar) [India], July 23 2026: The Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) on Thursday announced that one of its emerging fast bowler, Vasudeo Prasad has been selected by the prestigious MRF Pace Foundation for a high-performance training programme in Australia.

He earned his place after successfully clearing a rigorous pan-India selection trial, in which only bowlers demonstrating exceptional pace, accuracy, consistency, and overall performance were chosen.

Expressing his delight over the achievement, Bihar Cricket Association President Mr. Harsh Vardhan said:
“This is an extremely proud moment for Bihar cricket. The selection of Vasudeo Prasad for such a prestigious programme reflects the steady rise in the standard of cricket in Bihar. It is the result of his hard work, dedication, and the improved opportunities being provided to our players. We remain fully committed to nurturing and supporting talented cricketers.”

He further added:
“The consistent progress of Bihar’s players and achievements such as those of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi clearly indicate that the Bihar Cricket Association is moving in the right direction. Through our collective efforts and long-term vision, we are committed to providing the state’s finest talents with opportunities to excel at both the national and international levels.”

Vasudeo Prasad, a resident of Muzaffarpur, has represented Bihar Cricket Association at the Under-16, Under-19, and Under-23 levels while playing for Bihar and has impressed with his performances in BCCI domestic tournaments.

Meanwhile, Rinkle Tiwary, a resident of Gopalganj, has represented Bihar in the Under-19 category was earlier selected for the MRF Pace Foundation for its fast-bowling development programme as part of its long-term grooming process. He was subsequently selected by the BCCI for the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and zonal tournaments, underlining his steady progress and bright future in Indian cricket.

Bihar Cricket Association Secretary Mr. Ziaul Arfin also congratulated the players, saying:
“The achievements of Vasudeo Prasad are the result of their hard work, discipline, and commitment. Their selection is not only a proud moment for them but also an inspiration for the entire state of Bihar. We are confident that he will make the most of this opportunity and continue to bring glory to Bihar and India.”

Notably, Sakib Hussain and Mohd. Izhar, who have featured in the Indian Premier League (IPL), were also part of the MRF programme.

In addition, Bihar’s Mukesh Kumar and Akash Deep have represented India at the international level and have also made their mark in the IPL, further reinforcing Bihar’s growing reputation as a nursery for fast bowlers.

With this achievement, Vasudeo Prasad is following in the footsteps of their senior counterparts and moving closer to realizing their dream of representing India in the future.

This remarkable achievement reflects Bihar’s emergence as a strong nursery for producing quality fast bowlers.

The Bihar Cricket Association congratulates Vasudeo Prasad, his familiy on this significant achievement and wishes him continued success in his cricketing careers.
