Bowling all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary India batter Sachin Tendulkar, has been left out of Goa’s 16-member squad for the 2026-27 Ranji Trophy season. The new season is set to begin on October 11, with Goa scheduled to face Baroda in their opening Elite Group A fixture at the Bhausaheb Bandodkar Ground in Goa.
Goa announced their squad on Friday, October 9, with Abhinav Tejrana named captain. Arjun, who made his Ranji Trophy debut for Goa in 2022, did not find a place in the squad despite scoring a century on his debut. Interestingly, his father, Sachin, had also scored a century on his Ranji Trophy debut for Mumbai in 1987, at the age of 14.
The Goa squad also features Lalit Yadav, who has previously represented Delhi, and Suyash Prabhudesai, who has played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Arjun, 27, represents Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL. His last Ranji Trophy appearance for Goa came against Kerala in Porvorim from January 29 to February 1, 2026. In that match, he scored 36 runs in the first innings while batting at No. 8 and followed it up with 24 in the second innings at No. 10. With the ball, he picked up two wickets for 109 runs in 28 overs in the first innings but did not bowl in the second.
During the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season, Arjun featured in all seven of Goa’s Elite Group B matches. He scored 153 runs and claimed 15 wickets across 10 innings, contributing with both bat and ball.
Arjun moved from Mumbai to Goa in 2022 and has since played 24 First-Class matches, scoring 685 runs and taking 52 wickets. Apart from his century on Ranji Trophy debut, he has also registered two half-centuries. His best bowling figures in First-Class cricket stand at 5/25.
