Teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi once again grabbed attention on Sunday (July 12), this time away from the cricket field, as he attended the 2026 Wimbledon men’s singles final between Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev in London.
The 15-year-old arrived at Centre Court alongside teammate Abhishek Sharma and former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, dressed in a sharp black suit, striped tie and rimless rectangular glasses. Speaking during a courtside interaction, Sooryavanshi revealed that his elegant look was put together at the last minute with help from Abhishek.
“Nahi kuch kiya nahi, but jaldi jaldi mein bas jo mila mujhe mein maine Abhishek bhai se bolke arrange karaya aur daal kar aaya hu. (I didn’t plan anything. Whatever I could find at the last minute, I asked Abhishek bhai to arrange for me, and I just wore it),” Sooryavanshi said.
The appearance came shortly after Sooryavanshi and Abhishek represented India in the five-match T20I series against England, which the visitors lost 4-0.
The young cricketer also spoke about his love for tennis, revealing that he has followed the sport for the past four to five years.
“I have been following tennis for the last four to five years. I used to watch Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. I still like Djokovic a lot. For me, Carlos Alcaraz was the most impressive. He isn’t in this tournament, but from what I have followed, Jannik Sinner looks the best. The way he has dominated, hopefully he’ll win today,” he said.
In another interaction, Sooryavanshi described meeting Yuvraj Singh as a dream come true, calling the 2011 World Cup winner one of his childhood idols.
“He’s one of my idols, so meeting him for the first time felt very nice. I spoke a lot with him and he gave me a lot of advice. It feels good to learn so much from him,” the teenager said.
Sooryavanshi’s candid responses and humble personality quickly won over fans on social media, with many praising the youngster for staying grounded despite his rapid rise in Indian cricket.
