IPL 2026 Playoff Format
The IPL 2026 league stage is being played in a two-group format similar to IPL 2023, where all 10 teams are divided into two groups. Teams play the other sides in their group twice and teams from the opposite group once during the league phase.
After the league stage, the top four teams qualify for the playoffs:
- Top two teams play Qualifier 1
- Teams placed third and fourth play the Eliminator
- The loser of Qualifier 1 faces the winner of the Eliminator in Qualifier 2
- Winners of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 advance to the final
If teams finish level on points, Net Run Rate (NRR) will decide the rankings.
