The incident is particularly concerning given that fans were only allowed back into stadiums during the PSL 2026 playoff stage after restrictions earlier in the tournament. On the cricketing front, Zalmi delivered a dominant performance to lift the trophy. Hyderabad Kingsmen were bowled out for 129 in 18 overs, despite a fighting 54 off 50 balls from Saim Ayub. The bowling effort was led by Aaron Hardie, who produced a match-winning spell of 4 for 24, well supported by Nahid Rana and Sufiyan Muqeem.
