Pakistan Super League 2026 Final saw Peshawar Zalmi clinch their second title with a five-wicket win over Hyderabad Kingsmen at the Gaddafi Stadium. However, despite the on-field success of the Babar Azam-led side, off-field chaos briefly stole the spotlight.

A video circulating on social media showed a group of fans involved in a physical altercation in the stands, with several individuals attacking each other while others looked on or recorded the incident. The clash, which resembled a chaotic free-for-all, drew attention away from the action on the field.

The exact cause of the altercation remains unclear, with no official confirmation from authorities or security personnel. The incident is particularly concerning given that fans were only allowed back into stadiums during the PSL 2026 playoff stage after restrictions earlier in the tournament. The visuals of spectators fighting, while others filmed the scene, raised questions around crowd management and stadium security.

On the cricketing front, Zalmi delivered a dominant performance to lift the trophy. Hyderabad Kingsmen were bowled out for 129 in 18 overs, despite a fighting 54 off 50 balls from Saim Ayub. The bowling effort was led by Aaron Hardie, who produced a match-winning spell of 4 for 24, well supported by Nahid Rana and Sufiyan Muqeem.

Chasing 130, Zalmi were briefly under pressure after early dismissals, including that of skipper Babar Azam. However, Aaron Hardie and Abdul Samad steadied the innings with a composed partnership. Hardie capped off a stellar all-round performance, guiding his side to 130/5 in just 15.2 overs and ending the franchise’s long wait for another title.

The victory also marked Babar Azam’s first major trophy as captain at the professional level, making it a significant milestone in his leadership journey.
