Two-time T20 World Cup winner Andre Russell will retire from international cricket after West Indies’ second T20I against Australia on July 22 in Kingston, Jamaica, his hometown, Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced on Wednesday.
The 37-year-old all-rounder, who played a key role in West Indies’ T20 World Cup triumphs in 2012 and 2016, will end a decorated T20I career with 84 appearances, 3 fifties, and 61 wickets.
A white-ball specialist, Russell also played 56 ODIs, picking up 70 wickets, and featured in just one Test. His last ODI appearance came in 2019.

Russell has continued to dominate T20 leagues around the world, most recently appearing in Major League Cricket (USA). He now looks to sign off on a high in front of home fans.

West Indies host Australia for a five-match T20I series, with the first game on Sunday in Kingston. Australia recently clinched the Test series 3-0.
