Bhagalpur (Bihar) [India], June 18: Akshara Gupta, a young batter from Bihar, created a new milestone in women’s domestic cricket by scoring an unbeaten 306 runs in the BCA Women’s U-19 One-Day Trophy Tournament, which commenced on Thursday at the Sandis Compound Ground in Bhagalpur.

Representing her team, Akshara played a sensational knock of 306 not out, carving a special place for herself in women’s domestic cricket. During her historic innings, she smashed 55 fours and 8 sixes. She scored her runs off just 126 deliveries at an impressive strike rate of 242.86 and spent 233 minutes at the crease.

One of the most remarkable aspects of her innings was the blistering start. Akshara reached her half-century in just 16 balls and completed her century in only 34 deliveries, showcasing her exceptional batting prowess.

Congratulating Akshara on her achievement, Bihar Cricket Association President Harshvardhan said that Bihar’s women cricketers are consistently bringing laurels to the state through their performances.

He added that the BCA is continuously working to provide better opportunities and platforms for players, and innings like this serve as an inspiration for young cricketers.

Bihar Cricket Association Secretary Ziaul Arfin also extended his congratulations, stating that the emergence of such talent at the very start of the BCA Women’s U-19 One-Day Trophy is a highly positive sign for cricket in Bihar. He wished Akshara a bright future ahead.

Akshara Gupta’s innings has now become one of the most memorable knocks in women’s domestic cricket and has established a new record in BCA women’s cricket.

Previously, one of the highest individual scores in women’s domestic cricket belonged to Mumbai’s Ira Gupta, who had scored an unbeaten 346 runs in a domestic state-level match. Her innings included 42 fours and 16 sixes.
Akshara Gupta’s unbeaten 306 and Ira Gupta’s unbeaten 346 now stand among the biggest individual scores in women’s domestic cricket.

Both players have set new benchmarks through their extraordinary batting performances and have created inspiring examples for aspiring cricketers.
