Jamal Musiala, the star midfielder of Bayern Munich and the Germany national football team, has reportedly been handed a driving ban following a major legal ruling by the Munich Local Court earlier this month.

According to reports, the incident dates back to April 2025 when Musiala was involved in a serious high-speed crash on the A8 autobahn. Prosecutors stated that the attacking midfielder was driving his 600-horsepower Audi RS e-tron GT at 194 km/h in a zone where the speed limit was 120 km/h.

While attempting an overtake, Musiala reportedly failed to notice a Volkswagen Golf travelling on his right side, leading to a heavy collision. Two passengers in the other vehicle sustained minor injuries, while property damage from the accident was estimated to be around 200,000 euros.

Following detailed investigations, the Munich Local Court imposed a nine-month driving ban on the German international along with a significant financial penalty for negligent endangerment of road traffic.

Musiala later addressed the controversy publicly and accepted full responsibility for the incident. Speaking to Bild, the young midfielder described the crash as a “traumatic and life-changing” experience and admitted that his actions behind the wheel were careless.

He also expressed relief that no one suffered serious or life-threatening injuries in the accident and accepted both the fine and driving suspension without contesting the ruling legally.

Despite the legal setback, the issue is not expected to affect Musiala’s football career or participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The case is considered a civil traffic offence and does not involve any sporting disciplinary action.

Both Bayern Munich and the German Football Association were reportedly informed about the matter shortly after the accident and have continued to support the player throughout the legal process.
