Vila Belmiro has witnessed many dramatic moments over the years, but the latest episode involving Neymar and Robinho Jr. has thankfully ended on a positive note. The duo have put an end to their brief feud, bringing relief to Santos FC fans ahead of a crucial phase in their season.

The tension began during a training session on Sunday at the Rei Pelé Training Center. What started as a competitive drill soon turned heated when Robinho Jr. dribbled past Neymar. The veteran reacted by tripping the youngster and telling him to “take it easy,” which quickly escalated into a verbal argument. The situation intensified, forcing teammates and coaching staff to step in and separate the two.

Matters took a more serious turn on Monday when Robinho Jr.’s camp alleged that Neymar had not only insulted him but also slapped him during the altercation. Santos responded by launching an internal investigation, raising concerns about a possible rift between the club’s senior star and one of its brightest young talents.

However, signs of reconciliation emerged soon after. During Santos’ 1-1 draw against Recoleta FC in the CONMEBOL Sudamericana on Tuesday, both players were seen celebrating together, sharing a hug that signalled the end of the dispute.

Speaking after the match, Neymar admitted he had crossed the line.
“I went too far, yes, I know that,” he told ESPN Brasil. “Anyone who plays football knows these things happen… I had already apologized, and I thought it had been resolved internally.”

Robinho Jr. also confirmed that the issue had been settled.
“Of course I was upset, but he apologized and owned up to it. I accepted it. Everything’s fine now,” he said, while also criticising the media for amplifying what he described as a private matter.

The timely resolution comes as a big boost for Santos, who are aiming to stay competitive in the Sudamericana. With both Neymar and Robinho Jr. now on the same page, the focus shifts back to football—right where it belongs.
